GIS-Enabled, Functions-Based Vulnerability Data

GrandView CV, available as a stand-alone application or in the larger GrandView solution, is an information support and mapping tool that provides actionable, intervention-oriented community vulnerability information. Using a functions-based perspective that identifies what people must do to stay safe and healthy in disaster rather than enumerating the individual characteristics that may or may not be associated with vulnerability, GrandView CV tells emergency managers actionable information about who is most vulnerable to disaster, why, and how to reduce that vulnerability. Vulnerability information is presented via GIS-enabled graphical user interface that allows users to visualize vulnerability in terms of location, size, and density.

GrandView CV has been used to inform full-cycle emergency management activities from scenario development, plan drafting, mitigation strategy development, and response by customers across the nation, including in three of the nation’s major metropolitan areas.
